Paola is the Miami County seat. It has a rich Native American history, that includes behind the Paola name, and behind the downtown Park Square.
Today, it is the home of the Miami County Historical Museum, and a fine array of locally owned businesses and eateries. It is the location of annual events that folks from all over the region, and all over the country, attend. And ’tis the home of the traditional newspaper, Miami County Republic, that presented its first edition on August 18, 1866.
