___ The small word zingy packs a lot of zing.
Someone or something that is “zingy” is of positive and active energy.
Definition via Merriam-Webster.com dictionary:
1 : enjoyably exciting
2 : strikingly attractive or appealing
According to the Merriam-Webster.com dictionary, the first known use of “zingy” was in 1945. Perhaps the music culture of the era had an influence in presenting this word. Crooners like Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong were bringing lively music through the radios. The “zoot suit,” also hit the scene; this is a men’s suit that’s color-coordinated with hat, and spiffy shoes. All this must have had folks feeling “zingy.”
